Maria Pinheiro, aka Carlos Roxo, is a versatile artist who transitions between institutional and personal projects. With a background in Graphic Design and a master’s degree in Illustration and Animation, demonstrates his expertise in various disciplines with passion and creativity.

With extensive experience as a freelancer, Carlos Roxo has collaborated with various brands and associations provide scripts, storytelling, creative thinking, storyboards,  concept development, visual identities, illustration, traditional and live animation. Additionally, is also an extremely curious, practical and empathetic person.

Amongst the things his done, what has enjoyed the most is picking up a simple idea and turning it into a consistent project, directing all its stages, from conception, visual identity design, brand strategy and space development. Basically, he loves being involved in every step, unifying and strengthening a vision that appeals to the target audience.

However, it is in the expression of his true artistic essence that he shines, exploring painting, drawing, textiles, ironwork, ceramics, and animation in search of freedom and expression.

With the emergence of the pandemic, Carlos returned to his roots in Torres Vedras, Portugal, seeking personal and artistic growth. Now, more connected to a sustainable lifestyle, he founded the Galinheiro Criativo, allowing to be more involved with the community and decentralized cultural projects.
