YEAR: 2023

CONTENT: I was invited by MAPAS to develop a collaborative project with the local community, which I titled ‘Bichos na Natureza’, resulting in an open workshop in Ermegeira Park. The main idea is to use, recreate, and adapt materials found in the surrounding area, especially wood. Through a sensory experience, the goal is to create a kind of ‘animals’ as the final result. The aim is to explore and get to know the material, producing new and different shapes and textures. Our ‘animals’ would be previously drawn as a visual reference for their three-dimensional development. Therefore, by observing and interpreting, it was expected that new ways of bringing the drawings to life would be understood. This workshop highlighted improvisation, challenge, imagination, creation, and fun among the community.
