CONTENT: Festival ERMO — Art, Territory, and Community in Ermegeira

Co-organized by local initiatives: Galinheiro Criativo, INOPINATUM — Associação Cultural, and Sociedade Filarmónica Ermegeirense.

The ERMO Festival is an immersive artistic experience in the village of Ermegeira, combining six artistic residencies over a week with a one-day presentation throughout the village inviting both residents and visitors to engage with the past, present, and future of Ermegeira.. The festival fosters a dialogue between artists, the local community, and the village itself, exploring questions of identity, belonging, and isolation.

Born from a continuous effort to value the village’s cultural life ERMO places the community at the heart of the creative process. More than an event, ERMO is a space for cultural revitalization, celebrating local knowledge, fostering pride and belonging, and showing that rural areas can also be places of artistic innovation and creation.
